Fried Apples
Did you have a good weekend? I enjoyed watching General Conference and making our traditional conference meal- fried apples and biscuits. (we don't go all out like the Stampers do b/c we don't need that much food at one sitting).
Melt a few tablespoons of butter in a large pan. Peel and slice your washed Granny Smith apples. (this would be A LOT easier with an apple peeler and corer). Add your apples to the pan. Add cinnamon and white sugar to taste. (I added about three heaping spoonfuls of sugar and a generous dash of cinnamon. It really depends on how tart your apples are and how sweet you want the fried apples to be.) Stir gently so apples are evenly coated. Cook on medium low until desired tenderness, stirring occasionally. I like mine a little bit crisp b/c they soften when they sit in the sauce and mushy apples are yucky. I cooked mine about fifteen minutes, while I sewed the pockets and side seams of my dress.
